Site rules
These rules apply to all users of the site
- All camp leaders must inform the Site Manager of the time at which their group is expected to arrive on site.
This should be done at the time of booking and confirmed a minimum of one week prior to the date of arrival.
- The camp leader must arrange with the duty warden or member of the site team to inspect the site or building prior to final departure.
- Car parking is only permitted in the designated areas at the entrance to the site. Vehicles may with permission pass the barrier
to unload tentage etc., but must return to the car park as soon as possible.
- Caravans are not allowed on the camping fields, but may be allowed in the car park at the discretion of the site manager. Normal
camping charges will apply. Note: This rule applies to caravans, trailer tents are permitted on the fields.
- Fee's to be settled up during the duration of the camp, and a receipt obtained. Cheques to be made payable to the "THE QUARRIES SCOUT
CAMPSITE". Invoicing only by prior arrangement with the Site Manager.
- NO NEW FIRE AREAS TO BE CREATED. If the fire areas are insufficient, please approach the duty warden who will endeavor to supply
portable altar fires. The duty warden will advise on disposal of wood ash.
- FIREWOOD. We have a policy of trying to provide as much natural wood as possible. This relies very much on the generosity of local
tree surgeons and the site team who's job it is to lop it into usable pieces.
Please therefore take care to use wood sensibly and as economically as possible.
We take a dim view of wasteful burning! Trees (even dead ones) must not be cut unless with the express permission of the duty warden
- All rubbish to be deposited in the appropriate container.
Plastic sack (tied or sealed please) in the wheelie bins, or large bins adjacent to the barrier. Loose litter in the many bins around the site.
The Quarries service team works hard to ensure the cleanliness of the site, but it is the responsibility ALL users to see that dropped litter finds
it's way into a bin. Wet or dry pits are not allowed.
- Due to the proximity to our neighbours the use of fireworks or air horns is prohibited.
- Noise should be kept to a minimum between 22.00 hours and 0700 hours.
- No equipment or furniture may be taken from the buildings.
The duty warden may be able to provide some furniture or equipment for site use.
- All accidents must be reported to the duty warden. Whilst there is a first aid kit on site, it is the responsibility
of all camp leaders to ensure they bring adequate first aid supplies with them.
- Washbasins are not to be used for the cleaning of cooking utensils, or hot water taken from the toilet blocks for the purpose of washing up.
- CHEMICAL TOILETS MUST NOT BE PUT DOWN THE W.C.'S. Please see the duty warden before use / disposal.
ON NO ACCOUNT SHALL SITE USERS EMPTY INTO, INTERFERE WITH THE CESS STORAGE TANK.
- Please be careful with the use of water as the campsite water supply is metered.
- There is a strict no smoking policy in all buildings.
- In the interest of health and safety please refrain from allowing dogs on site.
- A deposit of £50.00 for buildings and £10.00 for camping on booking application.
